Welcome to the South Seneca website. It is an honor and privilege to serve as Superintendent.
My philosophy for student success focuses on communication to all stakeholders, shared decision-making, customer service, excellent student behavior, and mutual respect. I hope this website provides helpful information about South Seneca as well as providing tools for current students, alumni, staff, and community members. By working with students, parents, faculty, and the community, I am proud of the accomplishments and future success this district is destined for. I am confident that we will have many successes throughout the year and the years to come, as we build a positive school culture while providing the strongest academic program we can.

About Us
Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, SSCS is proud of its heritage. On May 1, 1968, voters approved the merger of the Interlaken and Ovid Central Schools to form South Seneca Central School District. Since that time, the school district has expanded greatly to meet the educational needs of the children of this area.
The mission of South Seneca Central School District is to create and maintain an environment that ensures that every student reaches a high level of academic achievement as determined by state and national standards. We commit to a comprehensive system of social, emotional, and academic support to assure this outcome.

HS Art Students Enter the 2011 Scholastic Art Awards
Seven students have had their artwork selected for entry into the 2011 Scholastic Art Awards, the longest running and most prestigious high school art competition in the United States. Cynthia Becker, Vivian Becker, Sarah Brewer, Megan Chase, Jasmine DeLong, Jolene Paonessa, and Amber Parish have had their lithography prints, photographs, or ceramic sculptures chose for this highly competitive program.
Capital Project Update
Parts I and II of the current $28,000,000 Capital Project have been completed. Contractors will complete final punch list items in both buildings by the end of March. All new and renovated areas affected by the Capital Project are being used by the district.
South Seneca Hosts Seneca County Drug Quiz Show
The Drug Quiz Show drew in four competing schools this year, and the event was hosted at South Seneca Middle School. The game-show style quiz format includes questions about drugs, alcohol, stress, grief, peer pressure, decision making, and much more.
